SOX家族是由20个基因组成的超基因家族,这些基因编码的转录因子具有与性别决定区(Sry)蛋白高度相似的高迁移率组(HMG)框DNA结合结构域。这些SOX蛋白在转录调控中发挥着重要作用,既可以作为正调制因子,也可以作为负调制因子,并可能通过各种机制发挥功能。SOX13是SOX家族的成员之一,位于染色体1q32区域。在生物学过程中,SOX13扮演着至关重要的角色,特别是在软骨发生、神经发生、肢体发育、肿瘤和代谢性疾病等方面。本综述总结了SOX13的结构和功能,以及癌症疾病的发生的最新进展,以期对疾病诊断和临床治疗有所帮助。
Abstract:
The SOX family consists of 20 genes, encoding transcription factors with highly conserved high mobility group (HMG) box DNA-binding domains similar to the sex-determining region Y (Sry) protein. These SOX proteins play crucial roles in transcriptional regulation, acting as both positive and negative regulators and exerting their functions through diverse mechanisms. SOX13 is one member of the SOX family, located on chromosome 1q32. SOX13 plays a vital role in biological processes, especially in chondrogenesis, neurogenesis, limb development, tumors and metabolic diseases. This review summarizes the structure and function of SOX13, as well as the latest progress in the occurrence of cancer diseases, in order to help disease diagnosis and clinical treatment.
